It was so great to see all of the kids' smiling faces yesterday morning! It was a little hectic getting everyone set up and ready to go but all in all it was a great day. As you probably noticed, I sent home a daily report paper that gave you an idea of how your child did at school that day. I am going to try my absolute hardest to send those home everyday but as you know, sometimes the day gets away and I will have run out of time. I know you all like to know how your son or daughter did at school so again, I will try very hard to get that to you on a daily basis.

Thank you for your generosity with kleenex boxes and other school supply items. It is always nice to have extra and we should have plenty to last the school year.

Remember to look at the Important Dates page on this website to keep up with days the kids don't have school. New this year, students get the Thursday before Labor Day off as well as Friday.

I will try to get a group picture of all of us today. We are missing a couple of students so I may wait until they come to get one so

We had a busy week with a field trip and making our great mothers their Mother's Day gifts. We went to Knox Elementary School for a carnival field day. There were lots of fun games and activities for the kids to do. We had pizza for lunch and some of the kids even won some cool prizes! It was a long, tiring day but the kids had a great time. We spent all week slowly making a gift for our wonderful moms. We hope you all enjoyed your flowers and card. You all deserve a great weekend with lots of pampering!!!

We had a great Valentine's Day party! For our cooking class, we made heart shaped cupcakes and then used sprinkles to write love notes on them before we ate them.  The kids had a great time!
For letter W, we made homemade waffles with a waffle maker. The kids loved watching the waffles cook and then enjoyed eating them even more!

This week, our letter for the week was Ss.  We learned how to make an S and loved the sound letter S made.  We learned a lot of new vocabulary as well as some sight words!  Here are some pictures of the week!

Whew!!! What a week! With two-2 hour delays, it was very difficult getting back into a routine.  We were still able to learn about the letter Rr and the sound it makes. Some of the kids were able to review some sight words on the smart board too! Here are a few pictures from the week.

Well this week we kind of took it easy as we eased back into the swing of things at school. We did a lot of whole group lessons in the Panaboard which the kids LOVE! We worked on the letter P and it's sound, writing, and even some basic math!
Santa stopped by our room and delivered some presents for the kids while we were gone. They were able to open the gifts on Monday and they were so excited!
On Friday, for our cooking lesson, we made popcorn from an air popper machine. The kids were so excited to see it pop out. I explained how the small kernel gets very very hot and then pops to make the popcorn. They enjoyed the treat too!

Sorry I have been MIA so long! Things got crazy and I slacked off. My New Years resolution is too keep up with this :) Well, we had a great last week before break with lots of exciting things happening. We made ornaments, gifts for parents, cookies, and Santa even came to visit us and gave gifts! Enjoy the pictures and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
